Have you checked the 'known issues' part of the readme file ? There are some issues with certain videocards.

Otherwise, try upgrading your video drivers and possibly DirectX.

I also have problems running Shogun under XP, but they're totally different

First of all, thanks for helping me out.

I am currently checking if my drivers are up to date, but i assume they are since i play alot of games.
DirectX is therefore definetly up to date.

I in fact did manage to get the battle up and running once, only to have it crash at the post battle report.

dont you just love this? im going to cry in the corner now. i'll return after reinstalling the drivers.

    teh horror.

It crashed again at the post battle report.
What on earth could make my screen turn blue at the post battle report. The game seems to work fine at this computer though (Ati mobility).
appart from the usual flickering in the menu's.

When you say "blue screen" are you referring to a full screen BSOD error message (blue screen of death with white text showing an error message)? If so you should perhaps take a note of the error message. BSODs in XP/2K are serious and usually denote the failure of a hardware device.

    Post up some system specs.

BLue screen as in a blue square, matching the size of the monitor i'm looking at. blue as can be. so no error reports or anything, just blueness

The problem, however, seems to have been fixed.
You wont believe it but the microsoft error report got me on track.
It stated that the problem was my onboard sound "thing". After opening up my pc i found the little chip with the specs i needed to download new drivers.

    problem solved. thanks
