    Default Alexandros Preview 4: India

Today i give you the 4th preview for Alexandros, showing the units India will have in the mod. Once again, these units are partly accurate, and a lot of artistic licence has been used with them. Most of the models are based on unused indian models i found in the Alexander folder.

A big thanks to vikrant1986 for help with the unit roster and unit names.

And if anyone wants to help out Alexandros, i need a coder to do traits and ancilliaries for the mod, and someone to do new portraits and building pics for the Indians otherwise they'll end up with the Egyptian ones.

    Cavalry

    Kshatriya Angarakshak

This general is accompanied by his own bodyguard of war elephants

    Youdha Gaj

Heavily armoured elephants with bow armed riders.

    Gaj Dal

    Elephants with javelin armed riders.

    Rath

Chariots. The crew are lightly armoured archers.

    Youdha Rath

Heavy chariots. The crew are well armoured archers.

    Ashwarudh Taalwaarbaaz

Mounted heavy swordsmen with a large round shield for protection.

    Ashwarudh Bhalafeki

Light javelin cavalry best used for skirmishing.

    Infantry

    Bhaladhari Sainika

Levy spearmen who are lightly armoured. Cheap and numerous, but no match for better units.

    Bhaladhari Kshatriya

Well armoured spearmen used to form the main battle line.

    Sainika

Lightly armoured swordsmen. They carry a large round shield for protection.

    Kshatriya Yodha

Elite, well armoured infantry, armed with a bamboo bow and sword.

    Bhalafeki Sainika

Javelin armed skirmishers who also use a large shield.

    Dhanurdhari Sainika

Lightly armoured archers. They use a bamboo bow and a sword.

    Gaj Shikari

Elephant trackers armed with a double headed axe and bamboo javelins.

And some pics from the redone Battle of Hydaspes:

These are great looking units, well done.

If you can manage to shoe-horn the Indians into the campaign, that would be a great improvement. Ideally, I'd see them as acting like the Civil War in RTW or even the Mongols in MTW - providing a nice end-game challenge.

Why did CA make units that have those silly balls on their heads? They don't look anything like turbans, and most of their soldiers didn't even wear turbans.

They're not turbans, they're hair knots.
