Buggy menus ?

Okay, so I found BI in a store today for 5€, I figured I could get a night's worth of entertainment out of it at least, so I bought it, uninstalled Rome (RTR), and reinstalled Rome.

Now RTW (even without BI) doesn't seem to work anymore, it starts flipping out with all kinds of weird colours and stuff at the startup and when i finally get to the main menu a yellow flickering light obscures most of the view, making it impossible to do anything.

Anybody have any idea what is causing this ? I've never had this before.

The problem seemed to be the new ATI drivers (6.9), RTW works again now that I've reinstalled an earlier version (6.7).
