Thread: Kingdom Hearts I and II

Default Kingdom Hearts I and II

One of the new people hired at my shop turned out to be a big fan, which was very unexpected. So I thought I'd see if there are any other players here.

The first game was the one which made my stop pondering about getting a PS2; I got the console with Kingdom Hearts for my birthday not quite 4 years ago. Played it right through, beginning to end with all secrets, before I touched any of the other games, and in the end I enjoyed it a lot more than the other titles I had labelled as must have. Impressive, considering that I thought it would be rubbish until I saw someone playing a demo version of it in a shop. The game has the unusual distinction of having my favourite console game box; the original PAL release had this tastefully understated foil version of the picture. Very nice sound track, excellent voice acting, good plot, handsome graphics ... and one of the worst 3D cameras I've ever had to use. Some of the areas were downright tedious too.

The second one has finally reached PAL territories. About time too - America had it back in March! At least this time they did a proper PAL conversion without ugly black borders and slow down.

yes KH has a very good story. before moving on to KH2, you should play Chain of Memories for the GBA.
KH1's awkward camera is much more improved in KH2.

Approximately how long is Chain of Memories? If it's something like 10 hours I should be able to get through it in a fortnight to three weeks of lunch breaks. Longer than that could be a problem.

Hurrah for the improved camera! That was the single worst thing about the original game.

I hear that KHII is a very easy game. Given that the first game had some very difficult spots this surprises me. Would you say this is true, or is it over-reaction? One reviewer said he cleared a room of enemies by mashing X and talking to someone else without looking at the screen. I don't mind easy, yet there should be some sense of accomplishment.

it is probably the same difficulty. there are many improved things that improve your fighting ability as well as harder enemies. some people say that KH2 is harder actually. bosses espacially Sephiroth and the last boss are much more harder.
Chain of Memories, heh i forgot how long but perhaps longer than 10 hours.
