Official Release Date???

Anyone heard of exactly when M2TW will be released (and whether it will vary by country)?

In particular when will it be released in the USA?

I noticed on the totalwar.com web site you can preorder from amazon and play.com. Both look to be the UK versions of these websites, but Amazon says November 24 and Play.com October 27.

Anyone know any official news?

I don't know the exact realease date is already given.First,CA says : 3th November.Then,I read on different sites that release is planned on 25th November.Now,I read : 14th November.I am a bit confused

Clearly, it will be soon. The last month has seen the amount of previews & info go through the roof, obviously the marketing machine is swinging into action as the game nears completion. Late November still gives them a couple of weeks wiggle room in case the game slips, and they can still get it out before Christmas.

Its been pretty apparant to me that there has been no public slippage on MTW2, whereas Rome ended up some 18 months "late" IIRC. And then there was that mysterious 1 month delay with STW (all the gaming mags said it was "out now", except it wasn't, I even remember PCG apologising to their fans for saying it was out when it wasn't and saying they had no idea why there was a delay).

Sweden seems to get it the 15th of november.
The online store I buy from has this date as release date and they only set the dates when it is "confirmed".

I have found the US amazon has the release date as Nvember 14....just over 2 months to go....

I belive that the release date in europe is the 21th, And this little peace of information was given to me when i pre-ordered the game, because the game would take 5-7 days to arrive, and my game is arriving at my house from the 26-28th

Where TW titles are designed and where they're produced is not the same place. SEGA are the publishers/distributors of the game and I imagine it's likely this will be done in the States...

Or failing that, blockade the ports with Galleys and seige the CA offices, maybe we could infiltrate a spy in there to open the gates? I know some feudal and gothic footknights as well as some Varangian Guardsmen that could help!

You may not need to do that. Game stores in Australia are advertising 31st Oct for the release date. Two days earlier if you pre-order.

If this is true it would seem that we will get it before the fatties. Lets hope.

They are all estimates based on what CA tells them about how close the game is. There is no official release date, and probably won't be one until it goes gold (is finished and goes off to be copied and boxed).

Well, EB games, gamespot, and Circuit City all have release set on Nov 14.

So six more weeks!

Actually, it all depend on SEGA. They are publisher and owners of CA.

You will probably see this one month before release as far as them actually announcing it goes. So maybe mid october you'll hear, MTW 2 has gone gold, that's my guess anyway.

First off, how are these dates any more reliable than others? and to reinforce that, it said that the release date would be 11/14/06 in the US... these people must be off their heads it's 4 months after it gets released in the EU and there is no 14th month

You do know that Americans don't write their dates the way Europeans do?

Well, not that it matters too much, but play.com have just changed their version of the release date from 27th October to 10th November. The October one always looked fishy, but the 10th of November seems more feasible. Mind you, it'll still probably be at the end of November like Amazon have it.
