    Default New Minimized UI?!

Just stumbled across some new screenshots from www.gameswelt.de, a German site that has done a preview of Medieval 2: Total War just recently.

    http://gameswelt.de/artikel/index.php?id=1927&page=2

Just click the link above and click on the screenshot on the upper right. There is a battle shown, where the bar, that has been visible so far in the lower quarter in the screen is missing, but instead there is a range of icons at the top of the screen. Either this is some other means of displaying maybe formations and we just can't see the original interface on that screenshot, because it is too low, or what we're seeing here is a newly designed minimized UI.

What do you guys think about it?

    Cheers!

That is already possible in R:TW by opening prefences.txt and setting MINIMAL_UI = TRUE.

The minimal UI type (Shogun and Medieval style) it is also in Rome of course.

But it is nice that we don't have to go hacking for it any more...

Well it looks decidedly different though in the design, that was my main point. I know you could have it back in R:TW but then it looked like the UI of Shogun or Medieval. What can be seen in the screenshot mentioned above looks like something completely different.
The most obvious difference being the lack of the unit cards arraying at the bottom of the screen as would be the case with the old minimized UI.

    Cheers!

Edit: Clarification: This thread was not meant to be about the fact that there is a minimized UI, but that there is a new minimized UI. Hence the title of this thread.

I grant you it is a bit prettier, but in RTW you could toggle on and off the unit cards and the mini maps and the controls on the top too... F5, F6 and F7...
