    Default Portraits and traits question

    Oh no! I'm asking questions again. I hope nobody minds me making so many new threads.

    Well anyway. I've got 2 questions;

    First, I dislike the greek portraits as I'm playing romans, because romans didn't pretty much wear beards till Trajan. I know why the portraits are like that and I know that portraits get an overhaul soon. But I simply want to switch the greek portraits with the vanilla roman ones. I've search a bit but I only found a thread about switching specific portraits. But I want to switch the whole set. Is it possible?

    Second, I noticed that some generals got historical person traits like cato the elder. That's a pretty cool idea, becauseI get a better view on my generals. I've checked the whole traits list because I was curious about what other persons are able. But I only noticed the gracchs and some other roman persons. Why is there no marius, no sulla, no pompey etc?

    The ability to change the general portrait type is not availible until RTW 1.5 (or was it 1.3?), but EB 0.7.x is on RTW 1.2, so at this time it is not possible to change the generals or culture. In 0.8, I have read, the Romans with be romans again, in culture type and appearance.

    1. This is a result of EB's culture swapping. In the 1.2 patch, faction cultures are hardcoded so EB had to swap a few factions and cultures around. The Romans, for example, actually use the seleucid internal name (the game recognises them as being the Seleucids, though we see them as being the Romani). In the 1.5 patch, cultures are moddable and so the Romans will have their correct portraits and so on.

    2. The team doesn't want historical personalities appearing in their mod. No Marius, Sulla, Caesar, etc. The retinue members seem to be an exception to this logic.

    Thanks for the answers. Guess I will have to live with bearded romans. :)
