Thread: A way around

Does anybody know a way around using the escape key? My escape key is broken and now I can't play all the different saved games I want because the game menu functions isn't in the Controls setting in options. Doesn't anybody know a "ALT and 'this" or "CTRL and 'this'" that the computer - and thus the game -would recognize as the same function as the escape key?

Please help!

Hi

Page 8 of the RTW manual, Control Settings, says you can alter the keyboard short cuts. Might that work ?

CRTL + S will quicksave and CRTL + L will load that same quicksave from the campaign screen. That should cover off any needs you have for the menu screen while playing. Then when you are finished playing, just CRTL + S to save, then CRTL + ALT + Delete to get to Task Manager then End Process on RTW to quit.

Et voila!

Hope this helps.

Negatory. I already found quicksave and quickload while searching for game menu in the Control Settings. Turns out that quicksave does not save your named campaign game, but instead makes a new save file titled "QuickSave" instead, so I can only use it on only one of my many different campaign games that I'm playing all simultaneously.

But thanks for trying.

You can make copies of the savegame file... Try renaming the quicksave file, and see if that makes it a new savegame in the menu...

It's a laptop, so replacing the keyboard means replacing the laptop and just take a gander at my location while you're at it, I'm nowhere near a technician to fix it.

But hey, thanks for your smart-ass comment and your failed attempt to insult my intelligence. I'm sure you can do better next time.

I spilt Lucozade over my laptop keyboard and ruined it. But, by switching to a USB mouse, I was able to plug a £10 external keyboard into the PS/2 port. Hey presto, back in action. I don't know if yours has a spare PS/2 port but if it does that would be an option.

Actually you can just rplace the keyboard of laptops, i broke the keyboard of my laptop and i brought a new one. When i saw brought it laptop was still under warrenty so it was free, but it can't be more than a new laptop or i'd been given a new laptop. And think before insulting full members, it's better to be quite and thought a fool than open your mouth and confirm it.

It is posible to clean your keyboard pulling off the Esc key?

I have a laptop; I use an external keyboard with it. External keyboards are sourcable, even in the sandpit, I'm sure.

Also, I wouldn't dream of trying to insult an infantier's intelligence.
