Well i have to say, i've played the battle of Agincourt and the AI seems to be supremely better than anything RTW or mods for it can ever offer... But is it scripted? I recall Rome's army AI performing quite well in the RTW demo... Intelligent decisions and whatnot, but it was just scripted and when the game came out it was entirely different.

Also, is it just me or do the men seem tiny? They're definately not as big as they are in RTW... It's like commanding an army of little people, fighting against other little people...

Both Historical Battle are Scripted. So you can't say much about the AI.

    Zoom in alittle bit more....

Having played the demo I am still waiting for EB version 0.8. I am not impressed about the graphics, cause my computer is in the mid-low end. The zoom out doesn't look all that great on low or mid settings.
I hope that the beta testing is going well and 0.8 will soon be out.

I'm not keen either because I also need a new vid-card to play it decently.

My specs are above recommended and it still runs like crap. I'll have to play with graphics all the way at the bottom for huge scale. It'll be like playing RTW with a mod.

If people want to play a medieval game, go for it. If you want to play a game set in the ancient world, you'll still be playing some variant of RTW for at least another year, and maybe closer to two.

I know pcgamer released this demo in one of their magazines for their subcribers, but will this issue holding the demo be realesed to stores? I have dial up and pretty much no way in hell of being able to download that gargantuan file, so this is my only chance of seeing how well the game will run. Anybody know???

Lol, judging a whole game on a demo, a demo which doesn't contain campaign or custom battles. No need to troll until you've played the whole game

As for me EB has become so associated with RTW that I can't separe the 2, I'll post this here ;)

After having played the demo, I have to say I wasn't that impressed by its graphics, I mean I fee like it's not that big of evolution over RTW, and it seemed to be a lot heavier on my system ( ati x700 128 ) than its predecessor. Yep, some of the eye candy like the "no-clone army" and the killer moves were nice, but one thing seems for sure, is that EB's skins of the models seem way more detailed and realistic than MTW2 ( like in RTW if we compare them they have this kind of cartoonish/glowing feeling).

I've never been a fan of the historic battles ( because they are are set-piece events, with lots of scripting involved, I don't think they flow as naturally as normal ones) so haven't played them to the end.

Still, I am waiting eagerly for this, and to see to what extent CA as improved the strategic side of the game over RTW.

PS : trees are now normally size, not LoTR standard ones :)
