Each new release of Windows has been relatively smaller in 'wow' factor, but they have got better if you have sufficient hardware resources, keep virus scanners and malware scanners uptodate etc.
The reason I have Windows is to play games. After that I don't really care what OS I have or what hardware it is on.
If there was a Linux shell that I could go down to a local shop but it off the shelf and then install any new game with ease I would do so. At present it is just easier to get and use windows while having something that also works with work aps with ease... having to VPN to work at all hours to run admin programs on servers means I need something that will run those aps.
