Double posting helps pad their post count, and decrease the time till they are promoted. A few double posts shouldn't be that bad...

Or so it would if promotion was determined by postcount. Which it isn't.

Sometimes people slip by, but generally those are the slow posters, not the fast ones.

Yeah but if I get that in Dutch it won't work for English sites.
Furthermore I heard it's quite irritating as it underlines every word that's spelled wrong. So also for words I want to have spelled wrong.

How is being informed irritating, and if it annoys you, you can disable it.
