    Default Custom ground and map feature types?

    Hi all,

    Has any one managed to create custom ground types and features?
    I would like to make a ground type of lake, which is basically sea ground type but at an altitude.

    The two features I would like to create are shallow and dry rivers they are both passable at all length but add a lot of bad going from one side to the other.

    Shallow rivers that are passable all along is not possible I fear. However you might be able to change river depth to 0 for dry rivers by using an hex-editor to change descr_geography.db. Look for a tutorial about changing battlemap colours/geometry.

    I don't think that lakes are possible.

    Well what I was looking was that if it is possible to make a new ground type ... like tundra or savanna or in my case lake and a new feature type like shallow river?

    Has anyone managed to read the DB files? The .db extension belongs to ANSI Database.

    Battle editor already does that no?, just drop the height down to below the water table and it fills the selected battle map up with water makeing it a lake.


    But you probably mean in the campaign, that i dont know how to do unles its conected with putting a shallow sea or river pixel on a very low hieghts pixel, that might work, but ive never played around with it.

    Its tutorial on battlemap modification by Muizer and it gives dl link to a hex editor he's used on geography_db.
