Don't know why they bothered with the trojans, a vulnerability was just found.

In other browser related news, the beta of Firefox 2.0 is available to download.

I wonder which will be better?

Well technically that's already the case. Certain 'features' of M$ websites such as Hotmail don't function on Firefox or Opera, and Windows Update forces you to use IE. Combine this to the fact that the browser is integrated into the shell since Win98, and no one could be blamed for concluding that IE is being forced down their throats. Personally I've been using Firefox since when it was called 'Firebird' and didn't come with an installer but ran from a folder. Before that I was using Mozilla, both on Linux and Windows.

You're right about that. Probably the only way that M$ can increase 'security'.

Now, such software makes me really happy. It's annoying that any software just clogs up the system because the computer has to know all. I don't see why games should even thouch something like registry.

Some years ago when I used Windows98, I installed the system and made an image of that. Then I installed all software on a different partition. Windows started to choke (even after the normal defrag and systemrepairs). Then I installed the image again, basically making a computer that had no programs. Windows was fast and nearly all programs still worked.

While im not a fan of MS in any sense, ill give credit where credit is due... IE7 is a big step forward. Admittedly, MS are playing serious catch up to Firefox and Opera, but is this a bad thing? Both are excellent browsers and if the 80ish% of users who are currently using IE6, eventually upgrade to something a little better through WIndows Update, it can only be a good thing. Ive downloaded IE7 and have tried it for a day, but Ill still personally be sticking with Firefox.

Opera 9 rulls. Firefox 1.5 is second. I will never use IE; only if I can't choose the other two.

IE7 does offer better phishing protection. Quite a nice package really. Of course they won't update it for another 5 years so it will be horrifically outdated soon enough.
