    Default MTW Mod

As in my past threads, people have mentioned about a Mod for MTW that makes it play better and fairer, I'd like to know where I can download this Mod and whether or not it is safe to download and use because I just came out of a virus attack on my Windows that has left me fatigued from such downloading content. Is it secure to download? Also, is there any requirements for the Mod besides having MTW?
It seems like an interesting Mod from all the things I've been hearing.

Mods for MTW are quite numerous. If what you're looking for are mods that enhance vanilla MTW's gameplay, I suggest that you take a look at either BKB's mod or the XL mod. Both of these have added factions and units as well as a lot of other things which are designed to make the gameplay more immersive and also make the AI more challenging.

But if you want something that changes the whole of Medieval, Pike and Musket is the way to go. It shows the world as it was during the XVI-XVII centuries. It has new factions while keeping some of the old ones and it also implements cool new concepts which make the gameplay varied and interesting.

Those are the ones I've played(excluding BKB, but I'm sure it's also a mod worth the download and more) and there may be more mods out there that should satisfy your needs. As for the where to download, these can all be found in the downloads section of org or in the engineer's guild, where they have their own threads.

P.S. Noli Me Tangere eh?- "Touch me not". Have you read El Filibusterismo yet?

I concur with Seedexodus on the BKB and XL Mods (the latter of which I have installed on my copy of MTW). They can both be found at the Engineers Guild. In addition, another excellent mod is Wes' MedMod, which can be found at Apolyton. MedMod doesn't seem to get as much attention as it used to--perhaps because it was the first of the major mods to be completed for Medieval--but it's still an excellent addition to the game.

In addition to P&M, two of the other major "total conversion" mods are Hellenic Total War and Samurai Warlords. All three of these mods can be found and downloaded here; the Org hosts their forums. Of these three mods, I've only played Hellenic TW (and that not much); but it's definitely fun!

All the mods here at the Org are safe to download and relatively easy to install. In fact, most of them actually include a self-installer, so the process is pretty painless.

Martok and Seedexodus, thanks for your reply guys.
Ive heard alot of the XL mod, I think thats worth going into eh?
All the details on it are on the links right?
And if there's any problems that should occur, I can consult you fine folks.

Seedexodus, I've managed to borrow El Filibusterismo from my local library, but its in such deep Tagalog, thats its hard for me to read it.
But my family and alot of my countrymen says to read "Noli Me Tangere" first, in order to get to know who the characters are and the background of it all.
    Very good reading!
But Im still waiting for it to arrive, cause I reserved a copy of Noli Me Tangere some time back. Spread the history brethren, don't let modernity snuff it out!

    Yep, XL's definitely worth it.

Well, both of those books are really hard to read. But I agree with what you said. Noli should be the first one that you should read as it lessens the complexity of the sequel.

I'm sure that there should be an english copy of the books somewhere... Mabuhay!

Yes, the XL mod is absolutely worth getting! It has more factions and units, better balance, and somewhat better strategic AI.

Just go the Engineers Guild and then click on the XL thread (it's stickied, so it's easy to find). VikingHorde has two versions of his mod available for download: the small version and the large version. The main difference between them is that the large version includes additional music for all the new factions he's added. (If bandwidth isn't an issue for you, I recommend getting the larger version, as the new music is actually quite good.)
