Default How to use the Modding Research Wiki forum

    How to view edit history

Briefly, for now - on the left of each post that has been edited you will see a link beneath the poster's post count called View Edit History.

Click on that and it will return you to the post but there will be a series of numbers to the right of View Edit History - this is a listing of the different edits.

You can see prior versions of the post by clicking on the numbers.

The _final_ person to edit a thread at that point in time will always appear right at the bottom in the usual place (and will be visible before you click edit history.

The editor of the post for a prior version that you're viewing will appear in italics, just above the horizontal rule above the signature (the final editor will still appear _below_ the signature line).

    Updating a thread

The top post should always be the one kept up to date. All discussion can occur in replies to this top post. Also, if you are making a particularly significant contribution to the top post you can log the edit your making as a reply also.

Editing is open to all full members. Junior members with something to contribute can reply to the thread and the information will be incorporated.

    Responsibilities for all members

As much as there are consequences for breaking the forum rules in other areas - given the open and collaborative nature of this area - the sanctions here are doubly-harsh. Each member is responsible for all activity undertaken by their account, whether intentional or accidental.

Be guided by this golden rule: think twice, think again, think some more - then edit..
