    Default Demo Screenshot Request Thread

Since not everyone is able to buy the PC Gamer Issue, I want to start a screenshot request thread. If you want to see some units, a general view or something in between, just post here and I will try to ge some good screenshots.

    Q: TB666: Counting L-to-R,top-to-bottom... your #4 screenie:

Is that a single gunner firing a single shot independently?

I see some ambient smoke nearby, so maybe he was simply the last to fire of his unit, and be caught stop-action style when your fingers hit the screenie key.

Still, the idea that a unit volly is unleashed nearly, but not quite simultaneously is fascinating.

He was just a bit slower then everyone else.
The firing animation is a bit slow but wonderful to look at.

I like the arquebusiers but does anyone else think their arquebuses look a bit small? And yeah the gunpowder volleys aren't simultaneous, but they look great!

For me it had no affect on performance what so ever.

This is what ya can expect to see if your system just meets the min. requirments:

    This's what me got:
    P4 1.6
    1024 DDR
    ti 4200 128mb
@1024 everythin' on low. anythin' higher and ya may have lag in big battles.

Surely a 4200 can do better than that?
How does it look running Rome?
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...

As a general rule I think newer games usually look worse on lowest settings that older games on highest settings while performance may be similar.
Also the TI4200 is not that new, I've had two other cards since my TI4200 and my newest card is getting old as well(6600GT).

The unstoppable technological race can be a pain in your wallet, but it also provides all the fancy graphics.

Well, yeah I'm sitting pretty with a couple of months old C2D 6600 & x1900gt but I dunno, my hard campaigning radeon9800 kinda spoiled me I guess in being able to run anything from the dx7 oldies up to modern games like BF2 at 1280*1024 with medium-high game settings + 8*AF & 2*AA.
Heck, it was even pretty happy running RTR:PE at 1920*1200 with high-medium game settings (huge units) 8*AF & 2*AA.
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...

Hmm, well, I'm running a Ti4200, and it looks a fair bit better than that for me.

Mind you, mine is overclocked to truly dangerous levels.

try runnin' everythin' on min. settings for playable performance. surely I can make the graphics look a little bit better but at a heavy performance cost.. still not better than RTW though :P

btw, I have CoD2 and everythin' on max runs perfect. it looks and perfroms great. I've seen top of the line systems chock tryin' to run CoD2 on max.. why? because they have all those fancy-shmancy visual features my video card doesn't have.. so in short an old system can run a modern game with great/awesome graphics and have a very good performance. ya just need to know how to code :D

Yes, my little 4200 has done me proud over the years. It's only in the past couple of months that I've been having problems with new games.

I've just ordered a 7600 GT though, so its time has finally come. Maybe I'll build a system for my sister and put it in there.

Can someone tell me why my FX 5200 with all settings put on LOWEST (Shader version 1) and unit scale set to 10 still only has a FPS of 6...

Well if I would take a guess I would say that horrible graphic card you have.
Trust me, FX 5200 is horrible.
I was so happy when I got rid of that things.

Apparently you can reduce them, but not increase them. There's a cfg file that is just txt format and can be edited.
