Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
That could be true. Actually, Jack/Sawyer/Kate got knocked out on a dock before they woke up in the village. And, the Others went straight to Sun and the boat, there's no way they could have snuck by Sayeed and Jin. Very interesting.... Still though, what was the point of hauling Sawyer up and showing him that, and what was the point of the pacemaker con? He could easily build a raft/swim from one island to the other. It wasn't that far.

But they did get past them to the boat and Sun had to defend herself. She shot the woman who later died on Jack's table.
Of course I think she was going to die anyway and it was just convenient to help Jack to a bad experience and trying to make Jack trusting them more.
It's interesting how they are manipulated individually.

No, they didn't. They climbed on the boat from the water side, not the dock side. Yes, I too wonder what's up with all the miraculous cures. It's clear that the original organization that built the facilities is playing some sort of experiment here. Maybe you're right, that the 2 islands are part of an enormous biosphere. Wasn't that all the rage in the 70s and 80s? That doesn't explain the healing properties though. I'm wondering if the whole show isn't supposed to be an 'what if' about purgatory.

Good call... they are to be tested. To overcome their weaknesses and faults. When they do overcome them, they get killed off -> purgatory ended for you.

There's a big problem with my purgatory theory though. It doesn't explain the hatches or the 'guardian' on the island, the column of smoke or whatever that thing is. Also, to continue the allegory, it doesn't make any sense that Mr. Eko, chosen at the onset, would be able to to fight off the angel meant to bring him to heaven. And what would be the point of the code & the computer?

A lot of viewers, including me, thought the same thing. Until the writers said in an interview that that's not the case. They also said at one point, while the second season was running, that they had no idea what the numbers (4 8 15 16 23 42) actually meant. Don't know if it was a joke but it certainly ticked me off.
What do you make of the survey station at Antarctica that recorded the hatch explosion and then called one of the others (the female interrogating Jack, also related to Desmond) on the phone while she's already on the island?

What the hell!?!?!? I only started watching Lost this summer, borrowed Season 1 on box set from my cousin, then bought season 2 when it came out to get caught up. I fell asleep one night and missed the last 10 minutes of one episode, it must have happened then. No wait, the hatch explosion was the very end of season 2, right? I missed the survey station in Antartica. Which episode was that in? And you're saying Jack's interogator & Desmond are related? Also, if these people have the ability to access the outside world (according to Henry, civilization is a boat trip away) why haven't they gone and gotten some decent medical supplies?

At the end of the last episode of season 2, when Desmond turns the key to blow the hatch up, the scene changes to two guys who are sitting somewhere in the snow, in a container that looks like a research station. They are playing chess when they realise that one of their machines senses something. After checking the report, one of them calls the woman, who later interrogates Jack, on the phone. This woman is related to Desmond, they were supposed to marry iirc but then he went on the world race with his sailing boat. I don't remember correctly but I have the impression that she knew what would happen to Desmond, ie being stuck on the island, and that she works for Dharma and they had it all planned for Desmond, as for the others.
Which brings up the question, since they know everything about the losties, why where they surprised when the plane crashed
About the medical supplies, who says they don't have any decent? For all we know the supposedly dead woman could be revived like the white rabbit. Although I doubt it.
BTW, I checked the numbers as coordinates once in google map and it turns out that four places in Pacific around the date line are plausible locations for the island. I'll post a screenshot later.
The one week breaks are driving me insane. And after episode six there'll be a break for about 2 months.

Of course, of course! The Brazilian guys. And you're right... Desmond went on a date with the therapist and got the money for the boat from her. I completely forgot about all that. Man, this is one damned good show, but you're right, the breaks are TORTURE!!!
