Okay, I landed at Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport at about 3:30AM (would've been 4:30 but forgot about going back to Standard Time). I didn't realize how bloody cold it is here, just a wink above freezing, but thankfully I can endure with my tough Montanan Skin, and only needed to wear a wool jacket, after we got checked into the Motel(which is right in the heart of downtown and overlooks the harbour), and slept until 12:00, we went to the Cavendish Mall to pick her up a good Parka and some winter clothing (Californian's aren't as thick skinned it seems )

So after we strode around the mall for a bit, we hopped a Taxi too take us to various locals throughout downtown Montreal, absolutely beautiful architecture, and she just about went teary eyed after seeing all the little shoppes we can go shopping at in a day or two.

After running around downtown until about 6:00, we ate at the Le Tandoor, which had excellent Lobster Bisque(sp?)...my french is very poor, but at least I'm making an attempt to learn as much as I can in such a short time.

I was a bit disappointed to find out that our Motel didn't have any place to hook up to the net (to see if there was any response to this post), so I asked the Front Desk Supervisor if he knew of any good internet cafe's and suggested Bcee's Cafe where I'm at now.

I would just like to thank you Beirut, Montreal is great so far, even if it is crummy outside (not like I was expecting it to be very warm, I kept telling Amy we're not going to Hawaii). The Places you suggested sound fun, and I will definantly take us to lunch at the Old Dublin Pub tomorrow.

Anyways, I've jotted down all the places you've suggested. And I think the rest of this week will be fantastic. I'd better get back to the Motel though, I don't want the fiancee to get too worried. Goodnight All. And Thanks Beirut!

Good lord man, I used to hang out there with my buddies when we were about 15. Small world.

Glad you're enjoying yourself. Monday is going to be nice and sunny it seems but the rest of the week still looks miserable. Hope you're enjoying the storm.

Dont forget about Old Montreal. A cup of coffee there will certainly brighten the day. Wish I could think of more places for you to see but I haven't lived there for twenty years and when I do go I always hit the same spots.

But please, if at all possible, go to Shwartz's for the smoked meat. Shwartz's is to Montreal what the Empire State Building is to New York. Just avoid going near 6PM, you might never get in. Middle afternoon might be best.

    Enjoy!

    When I was a child
    I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
    The child is grown,
    The dream is gone.
    I have become comfortably numb...
