I just happened to look up Priapism.

I saw the words "erection" and "gangrene" and stopped reading.

I'm going to go sit in a corner and cry.

It takes several hours before that happens, and I'm pretty sure most blokes would have the sense to see a doctor before that.

You'd better hope the drugs they give you work, though, because the surgical interventions they do after that are decidedly unpleasant.

I looked up the wikipedia article.

It's now up there as one of those fears which will one day return to ruin some romantic moment. Ugh.
