    Could you guys give me some explanations and pictures of these special structures, "wonders", whatever they are?

    Just very famous buildings/landmarks. Like the Akropolis in Athens, or the tomb of Alexander in Memphis.

    They give various bonusses to their region, like they inspire the local people.
