Now that .8 is almost here (sometime in November methinks), adding a dizzying amount of new content (skins, units, officers, factions, cities, map enhancements oh my!) I have one small question: how much more is there to cover between .8 and 1.0?
I played EB .74 until I got my BI upgrade so now I can't, and am looking forward to .8 tremendously. However, I am also an unrepentant perfectionist, and I never quite got over the peasant unit cards and Roman barracks buildings. So will the EB team still have a lot of ground to cover for 1.0? I remember reading somewhere that .8 would have all the content 1.0, just not as polished, is that right?
I ask because I'm debating whether or not to download EB .8, because if it's a sort of unpolished 1.0 build, then I may just wait those excrutiating two/three months until the final, perfect, build and finally realise my dream of a bug-free EB! I don't mind waiting, there are lots of mods to play while I wait, so please don't take this as a "when's 1.0 out?" post. The time doesn't matter to me, in fact, I'm one of the guys who voted to wait for .8 to be released rather than let an early release come. What I'm wondering about is the amount of material that will remain undone after .8. If it's a little, then I'll just wait- better to wait a month and get a much shinier toy- but if there are still overhauls to be done, I'll dive into .8 - because if 1.0 is going to be a whole new toy, I might as well experiment with the present one.
thanks a lot![]()
