So it says, but charge them with even the lightest of cavalry and they break. They only work if horses are pinned down, definatily not a very effective anti cav unit imvho, even militia sergeants chop horses better. I use them because I like to roleplay my games a bit, and the muslim units look so awesome

They're cheap, will kill any cavalry and can (just) outrun infantry, have a nice charge and look awesome.
