Amazon UK orders: Anyone had theirs despatched?

I'm reading reports of game.co.uk, gameplay.co.uk, play.com et al sending their copies of M2:TW off to pre-orderers, and I must say I'm pretty miffed to find that my order with amazon.co.uk has not progressed ("Items not yet despatched").

Just wanted to know: Of those who have ordered with amazon.co.uk, has anyone had their copy sent off or even received it yet? I'm getting impatient and am almost considering ordering from another site.

Nope, mine says estimated between 14th and 16th delivery. Oh well, I've waited a couple of years, so 6 more days I can cope with...

To be honest mate Amazon's not the best place to pre-order games from - you'll get it on the release date at best, and if you're really unlucky the Saturday. If you choose Gameplay on Next Day Delivery you'll usually always get it for the Thursday, though I got Bully on a Tuesday, 3 days early. The point is they are quick.

I can't speak for Game but I hear they're pretty fast also.

Pre-ordered yesterday, and was imediately dispatched. With a lot of luck i get it tommorow, if not, maybe early next week. Which is ok cause i wouldn't be able to play this weekend, anyway.

Mine says dispatching soon so expecting my confirmation email from them today. As it's next day delivery I would expect either tomorrow or Saturday that I'll get it. Slightly annoying that I won't get it at the same time as other people but it's only a days difference which, if this game is going to last as long as it should isn't so bad.

I just tried to cancel my Amazon order as it was not showing as dispatched, but it wouldn't let me - when I refreshed the screen it was showing as dispatched. So I may well get it tomorrow, but my money is on Saturday. Bah.

I had pre-ordered with Play way back in January, but cancelled my order when the 'order with Amazon, get exclusive demo' offer happened. Stupid me!

Ah well, something tells me I'll be outside Game tomorrow morning at 9am, and have 2 copies by Saturday lunchtime...

Shipped via Royal Mail (estimated arrival date: 11-November-2006).

Hope that's wrong since I'll be queuing up outside GAME tomorrow morning if the Amazon copy hasn't arrived. Never mind, same thing happened with RTW and it was a godsend when I had a CD scratch disaster a few weeks later.

Yes, same here. I was endlessly refreshing my order screen on amazon today which was saying dispatching soon. Don't these people realise I have armies to command??!!

Lord of the Isles and the Post Office are pleased to announce the arrival of a new baby package. The package weighed 0 pounds 5 ounces and arrived at 10:05am 10th November 2006. The delivery was a short one and the postman is resting comfortably.

I'd have preferred a premature delivery but with Amazon as the midwife, I'll settle for this.

Popped back home from work for lunch and nice package was sitting on my doormat. Managed about half an hour of play before coming back to work as I thought it would be an idea to maintain electric supplies to my house than get sacked . I think they might have been just a little suspicious if I suddenly had an attack of the black plague.

This is the first time i've gotten excited about MTW2 as i'd totally forgotten until yesterday that it was coming out so soon. Thank jebus for early release, suffice to say i'll be crushed if I go home and it isnt there

As for your chances, depends on where you are. My post round here in the wilds of Basingstoke is pretty good so you never know

Ok, now I don't want to sound bitter, but I am, especially as everyones getting/playing the game now.

So amazon dispatched mtw2 to me on the 8th. The delivery is 15-17th & from experience I KNOW it'll be the 17th...Decided I might not be able to handle that so I popped onto game to check out delivery times, (yes, I'm desperate enough to buy the game twice if I can get it faster)...It seems they can ship a bigger freaking package, (the collectors edition), to the same place using the same mailing system, royal mail, & it would be with me in 3-5 days, and the delivery costs are LESS for the faster delivery of a larger package!

I'm beginning to think that amazon's definition of "despatched" actually means, "its in a box, & we'll go down the post office in a week or so, & you have to cover the cost of a pint for the posty"

And no, I don't work for game, & I'm not a disgruntled amazon employee

My dispatch email came at 11:58 which I assume is in the pm, i'm in Liverpool and mail is abit of a lottery at times. Estimate is tomorrow (why oh why did I agree to do overtime tomorrow?!?!) *sigh* if I don't get it then i'll be furious as I hate getting new games during the week, trivial things like sleep and work get in the way.
