I gave in and bought a GBA Micro for about half the street price off eBay...
Suggest games! I have Pokemon Emerald on order (because the rest of the world seems to love it), any others? Was thinking of the new Mario too... Maybe a Zelda?

Get Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2. The Castlevania games are also very good, as are the reissues of SNES Mario titles.

I think Street Fighter Alpha was awesome for that system, if you like that sort of thing. I wasted alot of time in class beating people down on that game in my student years.

Astro boy: the omega factor !
A great little 2D action game. Relatively short stages (but pretty tough) and lots of boss fights. I got it of off ebay cheap.
Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
The best Castlevania since SOTN (perhaps better !). If you're going to get a castlevania game, get this one. Harmony of dissonance is rather disappointing imho. Circle of the moon is also pretty good iirc.
Others have mentioned Advance Wars, if it is anything like the DS version then it's well worth getting. Final fantasy 4 &5 are now also available for the gba, those were great games in their time, but I don't know how well they were ported.

Thanks guys... :)
No man should be without the Fire Emblem games, they are fantastic.
OMG! I never even knew that existed on the GBA.Originally Posted by Proletariat

I must've wasted hundreds of dollars playing the SF and Versus games in college. Akuma pwns! Instant Hell Murder ftw!
Back to topic, a GBA game that really sticks in my mind was "Zone of Enders: Fist of Mars". It was a straightforward RPG that used a tactical fighting system(ala Fire Emblem) with an interesting, if easy targetting mini-game. Tactics Ogre was also good.

Hah! Honorable mention for Raging Demon, Akuma was the best. I think they might've even had a Capcom vs SNK on GBA, which was my personal fav...Originally Posted by Xiahou

I think Marvel vs. Capcom was my favorite. I'd usually play some tag team combination of Bison, Akuma, Juggernaut or Magneto. I pretty much bought a Dreamcast because of that game.![]()

Golden Sun... amazing game. That reminds me, I should get its sequel, as well as Final Fantasy Tactics.

I'd highly recommend both.Originally Posted by Baba Ga'on

Been playing Zelda: The minish cap quite a bit lately, a good game, though some puzzles are a bit annoying (it's my first Zelda game), I don't really care for the 'overworld' stuff but the dungeons are great. I recommend it![]()
A word of warning if you plan to buy your games on ebay, there are a *lot* of forgeries out there. If you want to stay away from them (and you do, nothing more frustrating then wasting money on a pirated game) be careful, you can usually spot the seller because their feedback numbers run into the thousands and they have several gba games (often the same ones) for sale.

Wait, scratch Final Fantasy Tactics off the list. It appears they "kiddyfied" the pretty gritty, nasty story of the original on the PlayStation, to make it supposedly "suitable" for the GBA consumers (is it me, or is this Square's revenge for what Nintendo did to them in between the SNES and the PSX?).
No, get Tactics Ogre Advance instead.![]()

Hey I just ordered final fantasy tactics !
O well, I don't think the Tactics Ogre games are available in Europe, and i'll just re-sell FFT after i'm done with it, it should be entertaining for a couple of hours at least.

There isn't really any real story to speak of, but the gameplay is entertaining. It's a bit too menu-heavy for my liking, takes the pace out of the battles. Not a bad game but the fire emblem games are much much better, surprisingly mature story and fastpaced battles that can get pretty damn nasty. Dead is dead, it really hurts to lose a carefully nursed character, and the characters you don't use don't level so you can get yourselve in the situation where the game simply cannot be beaten.Originally Posted by Baba Ga'on

Which of the two Fire Emblems do you think is best ? I'm bidding for the sacred stones right now, but I heard the first one is actually better, true or not ?

Prefer the second, but they are pretty similar.
Got to play a bit of Fire Emblem this weekend. Definately an interesting game (and damn fun), it feels a bit like Advance wars but so much deeper !
I don't care much for the story though, but I'm not sure I ever played a game that gave you so many *interesting* choices to make. I just hope I don't settle in a routine too quickly, that's what killed Advance Wars for me.
