make sure in every battle, you try not to let any off you enemy's routing units get away. Charge them down with you generals bodyguard, and try to slay as many as possible, (its also easy'er when they are fleeing). Its a good way to boost you generals, also if you have a major force keep your general out of battle, until you have killed 50-60%.Then move you general and his bodyguard in for the final punch. Also its a good idea to have you faction leader + heir fighting together, then the heir will pick up many good command points.

I'm not sure, but I think you're referring to RTW. I've never played it, so I really don't know how that works. But in MTW, when I'm running down a routing unit, I will intentionally try to let a few men escape. The reason being is that the AI does not rebuild depleted units. This can give you an advantage in future battles, in that MTW (vanilla) allows you to bring in a max. of only 16 units at a time. So if the AI is bringing in partial units and you're bringing in full... well, you see my point.

Does anyone know if that applies to RTW also as I always kill to the last man if possible, but if RTW keeps beaten and incomplete units like MTW, then its well worth picking each unit and cutting it down but leaving survivors....

Can anyone clarify for me ??
