    Default Remember the 10th of November

    I, hereby, want to indicate my grief for the greatest loss Turkey ever had in his birth years, for the man he owes his birth to -Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

    One of the greatest statesmen, commander, revolutionist of all the time died on November 10, 1938.

    If you have an idea about what he did and want to share the grief, please join in. I did not open this thread for a Turk-bash opportunity -if you somehow don't like the man, avoid flaming please, PM me instead.

    Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives... you are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets where they lie side by side here in this country of ours... You the mothers who sent your sons from far away countries, wipe away your tears. Your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. Having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.
    For his efforts at reconciliation, and his actions to create a modern, democratic and secular state from the ashes of the Ottoman Empire, I, too, salute him.

    My thoughts are with him. Was a great man and he did great things. Truly one of the great leaders of the 19/20th century
