Default Did anyone actually get a "Limited Edition"?

I bought a copy from PC World a day before release and my Play.com order arrived today one the dayt of release and they're both boring, vanilla versions with no extras.. no map, no nothing. What ever happened to the statement that "Sega has announced that the first run of the real-time strategy game will be a limited-edition version of the game with bonus material. Those who pick up the game near its November 14 release will be rewarded with a "detailed map of the extensive game world" and the soundtrack from composer Jeff Van Dyke. The added bonuses won't cost extra"??????

I've been lied to and cheated.

THere is a large price difference, so you would have to specifically request the limited collecters edition. It's £45.
I was trying to find some help in the ancient military journals of General Tacticus, who's intelligent campaigning had been so successful that he'd lent his very name to the detailed prosecution of martial endeavour, and had actually found a section headed "What To Do If One Army Occupies A Well-Fortified And Superior Ground And The Other Does Not", but since the first sentence read "Endeavour to be the one inside" I'd rather lost heart.

As Night Star has said there is a Limited Edition and a Collectors Edition. The Limited edition is only shipped within the US because they don't have the Collectors Edition over there. The Limited Edition is supposedly given to all people who have preordered the game. It has a map I think, besides that there's nothing special. I wish I could have gotten one of those after preordering.

Ahhh... I see. So, if you pre-order in the states you get a free map and CD whereas in Europe you have to pay an extra £20 for the map, CD and some crappy toy?

Thanks for the fair deal, Sega.

You will just have to explore around with your spys, diplmats, armies, etc...Just like they probably did in the late 11th and 12th century anyways (well I am sure they had some really crude maps)

Just kidding by the way...it would be nice if Sega had included a map with the game even if it was just an electronic version...

EB Games in the deserts of Tucson AZ receives for distribution on the 13 (how auspicious) for distribution on the 14th. I will be waiting at the door to get mine with a map.

For those who wish to complain that the 'colonials' got a version with a map, it might occur to some that in the light of recent history it would appear we simply need one more than you do...

The limited edition's not bad: A map, a printed tech tree, two DVDs carrying the History Channel show "The Crusades" and a soundtrack. Not bad at all.

I just got the Limited addition a couple minutes ago. None the less while reading this topic, I think its good luck. The things a beast, you could really cause some damage with this thing.

    I got it.

But I bought it essentially because I hoped there was also a non-localized version of the game in it. No avail. Crap. Just wasted my money :-/

The Collector's Edition is worse, and you have to pay extra for it. And it's not available in the US, I don't think.

CE is worse? I was actually disappointed it isn't offered in the US and I'd have to pay another $10 to have it shipped over here.

Sounds like I should be looking for the LE...

IMO, anyway. You don't get the DVDs, instead you get a small metal figure and some art cards. Not really a good trade off, in my book. I got it for 35 quid online, so I wasn't too bothered, but I wouldn't pay the retail price of 45 for it. I just wanted the map and the tech-tree.

I did not notice any Orthodox or Islamic churches either. Though it did include a couple of non-catholic unique buildings. The Unit and Building Foldout seems almost exclusively focused on the starting catholic factions. Hope this is not a sign that CA short changed my beloved Byzantines.

One thing that bugs me is that there is no track listing for the soundtrack. Nothing in the Limited Edition box and if you throw it in a PC it doesn't detect them either.

You only get the DVD's when you purchase from Gamestop/EBgames. Don't mislead anyone here!
