Jihad moves like lightning!

I'm about 20-ish turns into a M\M Spanish campaign, and I've kicked the Moors out of Iberia. I'm moving an almost full stack in Africa to capture their capital, when a large army of theirs with a symbol over the top (I'm assuming that means jihad) whips past my army, and I can't catch it!

Any idea why it should be moving so fast? It's annoying that I can't do anything other than wait and see where it goes (or pursue it anyway, and call off the attack in Africa).

edit: nevermind. Could a Mod please delete this? I just used my eyes and read the manual.

Jihads and Crusades get more movement points than normal armies.
