Thread: Jews and Muslims Unite in Jerusalem!

  1. #1

Default Jews and Muslims Unite in Jerusalem!

    Against the homosexual abomination!

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.../wisrael07.xml

I have mixed feelings about this. To me, it is an example of the gay rights movement at its worst - deliberately trying to anger people and shove homosexuality in the faces of those who hate it the most.

However, those who hate it most are upsetting in their own right.

At least I can take solace in the fact that my sinful lifestyle facilitates some cooperation between Jews and Muslims.

Why is it that they can only unite when they hate something. When things are going alright they have to go back to killing each other. Though this:

Noa Satath, of Open House, the group planning the parade, said it marked an important step in bringing homosexuality "out of the closet" in Jerusalem.
It may bring it out in the open, but closer to the grave. I think that it is quite unwise to do this, too many people could get hurt. They already found one bomb.

If anyone dies, it's on the marchers heads.
Nope , if anyone dies it is on the head of those who killed them .

Well, those rabbis must have taken a leaf from Hitler's book burnings...

There is a good one in the article, made me laugh out loud:

The city's Islamic leadership is opposed to the parade, with Tayseer Tamimi, the head of the Palestinian supreme council of Sharia litigation, leading Muslim opposition. "This march tries to destroy the moral and spiritual values for youths," he said. "All religions discredit gays because it is against the decent human nature created by God."
    Decent human nature? Ha!

It is called physical courage. Sometimes one has to face hatred and violence in order to defend or promote freedom, justice and common decency. In extremis, this may lead to war. I am happy and grateful that my mother and father were liberated in 1945 by Americans and Canadians who risked death whilst defending freedom, justice and common decency in this world. The same applies to the civil rights marchers in the U.S. in the 1950's and 1960's. They weren't brickheads. Nor are these gay demonstrators, mutatis mutandis and all.

^There is so much wrong with both your posts, its not even funny.

Anyway the marchers know what might happen, so if it does it's their fault for being so pig headed.
Yea, the right to free speech in a democracy...how pig-headed...

I mean If a man says to you, don't go in there someone might kill you, and you say "Oh no I must because I left something", you're a right brick'ead.
That is hardly a comparable situation. (and to indulge this scenario for a second- what about if that something is your partner or your child? )

    As for the telegraph report-

After Israeli police found and defused a bomb bearing the message "sodomites out",
Ahh, another feather in the cap of organised religion... Peace and love- our way...

Ultra-orthodox Jews have protested for three nights, setting up burning barricades and throwing rocks at police.
The sheer hypocrisy of people is sometimes almost unbelievable.

"This march tries to destroy the moral and spiritual values for youths,"
Further highlighting just how Mein Kampf is one of the biggest selling books in the middle east...
"England expects that every man will do his duty" Lord Nelson

    "Extinction to all traitors" Megatron

"Lisa, if the Bible has taught us nothing else, and it hasn't, it's that girls should stick to girls sports, such as hot oil wrestling and foxy boxing and such and such." Homer Simpson

So if a robber kills a non-cooperative target it's not his fault? We should blame it on the victim or the police who didn't stop him?
If you're fighting fair you've made a miscalculation.

    Nonsense .
Are you in any way familiar with the people protesting against the parade ?
Have you any idea on what there stance is concerning supreme court rulings and police actions where they themselves are the "right brickheads" who may be under threat of violence for insisting that they have the right to go where they want and make their voice heard ?
They are damn hypocrites of the highest order .
This current objection and threats of violence is just the latest episode in a long line of actions they have taken against a wide variety of groups businesses and indivduals who don't share their own extreme views .

now if these nuts wanted to peacefully protestagainst the parade , no problem , if they had won through legal avenues he right to stop the parade , no problem .
But to reject the legal rulings and resort to threats of violence means they lose any possible respect or claims of legitimacy .
It wouldn't matter if the parade was for equal rights for sea urchins or voter rights for camels , if the counter objectors resort to threats of violence then I am going to support the urchin movement and camel voter registration drives right to parade .

They've been able to organize the gay pride parade in Tel Aviv with almost no trouble. Why do they want to have one in Jerusalem so badly?

Glad to see some moral men finally uniting and trying to do something about this, as they should.

Do you truly feel this way? If so, I can't help but think you're on a better road than most of us. But if not, perhaps it's best not to tempt fate....

I agree with you that hatred and anger have no place in the heart of any believer. I would urge my Jewish, Muslim (and yes, I'm sure they were there too) Christian brothers to calm down and remember to always love the sinner, regardless of how they hate the sin.

Anyway, I'm very happy that no violence seemed to occur from the event. I was actually quite worried about this event. Happy to see I was wrong.

I think it is simple. Everyone has the right to do "whatever-comes-up-in-his/her-mind" as long as it is not affecting others, and their routine of living life. To affect that, you need to get the acceptance of the public.

Thus, I don't think it is acceptable to find a person with some religion dancing around the streets naked just because that's his religion, and he has the right to perform it's customs. He sure can run around naked in his house as long as he wants and no one will talk to him. Same thing goes for gay people. Act gay as you like in your own area/house, that is your right. To act it in the public you need the acceptance of the public.

    EDIT:

To clear, I'm arguing the "Freedom" point.

"Cry, the beloved country, for the unborn child that is the inheritor of our fear. Let him not love the earth too deeply. Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs through his fingers, nor stand too silent when the setting sun makes red the veld with fire. Let him not be moved when the birds of his land are singing, nor give too much of his heart to a mountain or a valley. For fear will rob him of all if he gives too much."

Cry, the Beloved Country by Alan Paton.

Well the thing with these nuts is that this is just the latest in a long line of things they have objected to which are not against the law and are not really against anything except their own narrow bigoted viewpoint .
Their protests , threats and violence have covered just about everything from entertainment , restaurants , shops , cars , education , public transport.......
They are very angry at the moment because they thought that once they got the mayors office they could make the rules for all Jerusalems citizens regardless of the laws of the land or the wishes of those citizens .

So fair play to the Jerusalem queens for carrying on upsetting the extremist nuts
