It is called physical courage. Sometimes one has to face hatred and violence in order to defend or promote freedom, justice and common decency. In extremis, this may lead to war. I am happy and grateful that my mother and father were liberated in 1945 by Americans and Canadians who risked death whilst defending freedom, justice and common decency in this world. The same applies to the civil rights marchers in the U.S. in the 1950's and 1960's. They weren't brickheads.
