    Units are smaller in M2TW, at least on the Huge setting. In RTW, standard unit sizes were 240 and 160 for infantry, and about 105 (not sure on that) for mounted units. M2TW has reduced those to 150 and 120 for infantry, and 80 for mounted units.

    seems like these sizes are similiar to the old medieval. RTW sizes were sometimes a bit unwieldy at best.

    Must admit that i always played on normal until i got into Rome then i only played huge
    Much more fun having a few full stacks per faction that the hundreds you can support with smaller (and cheaper) unit sizes
    Back on topic and it appears that the huge unit size is a little less
    my spearmen has 150 men as opposed to 200 or 240 in rome :(

    Still you could play with two hundred soldiers per unit (of course only certain units, like the spearmen and peasants) in MTW I as well on the highest setting, if I recall correctly.
