My allies the danes are beseiging a rebel city, if i join them will i have any chance of taking the city?

is the victor the side that ends up in the city square, or will the danes automatically take the city cos the started the seige?

Did one yesterday, the first to lay siege takes the city.
Who gets the citysquare dosn't come in account...

    And my battle:
I was the english and was allied with the french.
The french laid siege to a city, and i joined the following turn.
The french ended up fleeing the field whild I took the citysquare, but the french still got the city

In RTW it didnt matter who laid siege first it was who initiated the assault. So are you sure it is who lays siege first now?
When a fox kills your chickens, do you kill the pigs for seeing what happened? No you go out and hunt the fox.

Not sure, no. It's problably the faction initiating the attack that gains the city.
