Even the council said that they weren't too sure what was going on, but were required to investigate. Non-story.
Council in a loose-loose situation. If they do they look like acting as part of a Nanny State. If they don't, well, they're not listening to their borough members.

1) Adrian, either the plaintiff had a chip on his shoulder or he did it just for the halibut.
2) After being told of the complaint that his shop smelt of fish and chips, the shop owner told authorities, "You're crazy. I don't even sell smelt."

If the person lodging the complaint moved in knowing of the restaurant, then it seems to me it is his/her problem, not the shop's. If the person was living there before the shop moved in, then maybe they have a legitimate complaint. It seems odd that an Englishman would complain about the smell of fish and chips - unless the person isn't English.![]()

There are times I wish they’d just ban everything- baccy and beer, burgers and bangers, and all the rest- once and for all. Instead, they creep forward one apparently tiny step at a time. It’s like being executed with a bacon slicer.
