I've been playing VH/VH and getting completely railed around the 50th turn in about 5 campaigns, so I'm stepping it down to H/H and playing but I keep getting pretty beasted. Anyone else having some luck? What faction are you too btw.

I play VH/VH and it usualy goes good until the ai goes crazy and almost all surrounding factions declare war on you, so no trade and you constantly need to fight battles but its doable until all the 2-3 unit armies start besieging all your citys heh. I´ve played the English/French/HRE and its been the same so far, gets repitive and boring.
Ive settled on playing E/VH or M/VH, the AI acts sanely on those settings. Mostly it depends on who youre playing as. Factions like Spain and the HRE are more fun on Easy because only about half of your neighbors attack you at once...sometimes. Other times they all attack you anyway, but they dont produce giant stacks of units to do so. Makes things a bit more fun.
Tallyho lads, rape the houses and burn the women! Leave not a single potted plant alive! Full speed ahead and damn the cheesemongers!
Currently I'm playing Venice on H/H. It's turn 70 and till now every time only two of my frequent allies attacked at the same time.![]()
I played HRE on H/H and it produced to much stress for me to be totally funny so I stopped it.![]()
The AI is still strange. Not that much improvement over the last TW games.
The queen commands and we'll obey
Over the Hills and far away.
(perhaps from an English Traditional, about 1700 AD)
Drum, Kinder, seid lustig und allesamt bereit:
Auf, Ansbach-Dragoner! Auf, Ansbach-Bayreuth!
(later chorus -containing a wrong regimental name for the Bayreuth-Dragoner (DR Nr. 5) - of the "Hohenfriedberger Marsch", reminiscense of a battle in 1745 AD, to the music perhaps of an earlier cuirassier march)
I'm doing ok on my first English VH/VH campaign. It must be around turn 50 or something. I'm besieging the last Scots settlement and have just taken Paris. I think I'm rated number 2 overall or something.
The main fly in the ointment is the Pope - he thinks hell is too good for me and I've shown him nothing but love.![]()
It seems like every game a random faction gets to be the pariah, its only happened to me once thus far, as Scotland, which is a pain because as Scotland I NEED some Papal help :POriginally Posted by econ21
