Default More info on the upcoming patch

Okay i posted this bug list in the thread where Wikiman posted the info about the new patch entering testing soon:

    * passive ai in battle map that lets you shoot at it(first reported by a CA dev themselves prior to release)
    * bug with ai and sieges where it can stall after taking the first wall on a settlement.
    * bug with siege weapons disappearing close up for some people
    * Gunpowder units cease to work after suffering casualties, especially from ranged units.
    * AI sits there when it has no way of assaulting the settlement, after siege weapons are destroyed
    * Merchant income goes down when loading a saved game
    * Monster Bombard causes crashes for some people when firing
    * Huge fps drop in sieges when the ai loses all other siege equipment apart from 1 ladder.
    * Still problem with ai accepting vassal status
    * Problems with unit cohesion. Problems with unit cohesion. Especially when charging. Cavalry loses cohesion when charging except from very long distances. Infantry have problem of only front line engaging.
    * strange episode with a English princess, playing as the Scots. During AI phase I watched her walk in and out of a fleet several times, and the fleet just stood there idly. This repeated itself several turns (around 6-7 turns
    * Im having some crash issues with 'An unspecified error'. It appears to have something to do with the autosave function
    * You start a crusade and your crusading army loses its extra movement points so all your units start to desert every turn and you cant do anything, happend twice so far, once with the English and once with the French.
    * Inquisitors kill too many characters, and are too hard to kill
    * Spanish Musketeers overpwered in mp
    * Lag in mp battles over 2v2 in size
    And he said the following:

Thanks for your bug list lusted.

I just printed it out and took it into the meeting with the programmers and quality assurance. Fortunatly most have already been fixed. There are a few which won't get fixed *yet* or it would cause a longer delay for the update.
So looks like good news on the patch front!

I have to say CA's response is incomparably better these days than it was during the RTW patching process; at least when it comes to engaging with the community and visibly paying attention to their concerns. So different to the silence, followed by denial, followed by half-assed patch that we went through several times with RTW.

Of course we wait to see what the quality of the finished patch is like, but the new opennness has restored a good deal of confidence.

Remember this is SEGA/CA now, not Activison/CA as it was for 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and the whole load-save bug "feature" debacle. Look what happened when SEGA took over. We got Bi, patch 1.3 which fixed the load/save bug, but added in other bugs, then patch 1.5/1.6 to fix those bugs, and improved ai. Plus added modding options with those patches.

CA under SEGA have had much better communication with the community, and are more open about things now.

I am also very pleased by Ca's response, all i was expceting was the first post by Wikiman, then lots of members posting what they think should be fixed. I was shocked when Wiki said what he did, it was a very pleasant surprise.

*** Hopes they manage to patch in dismounting cavalry like MTW instead of training separately ***
Or even at least add it for expansion
maybe those guys should be doing something more useful...

Yeah that would be really really nice.

Regardless its always good to hear about CA's progress. It gives me confidence in their abilities.
