I guess the old exploit still works...
Create a huge army, take an enemy city, plunder, destroy all buildings, go to the next one. Do it 3 times on the same enemy, and he's dead, he'll spend years and years rebuilding it, wasting resources.

I'm more of a "wait, build up, attack, repeat" strategist, so, I'm not able to walz over a faction. That said, quite an impressive show, hellenes.

I did pretty much the same with my HRE campaign (VH battles H campaign).
Though I do the same with most factions, this especially lends itself to early game expansion with all the rebel settlements abound. I'm now in turn 44 with control of all of europe from the coast of the atlantic to the byzantine empire's borders (which soon will be invaded). I also have jerusalem, gaza, cairo and a couple of more settlements in that region. I mean, why stop after the crusade has reached its target? They were so easy![]()
So, now I'm 44 turns in with my own pope elected and 8 regions left until victory. It's ashame I wont see the americas or the mongols.. Maybe not even the black death :/
Well done and congratulation to you!
...but also damn strange. My main rule for every strategic game is just simple : "Never blitz the enemy!". It spoils the fun![]()
Haha...happens once in history, it'll happen again.

I like the blitskrieg thingie...
but personally... I like my enemies time to built up their cities and armies. I love it when the enemy comes up to me with a full stack and there is massive fighting going on :)
I can remember once in RTM when I was attacked by 4 (!) armies, I only had wooden walls and they came at me with 9+ rams. I immdiatly made my stand around the centre square on a hill with 4 acces roads. Positioned my general, 2 cav units and 6 archer units on the square and the rest defending the acces roads. In the end I had to move what was left to my chohortes around to help where the pressure became the most and in the end I just managed to beat them and made, what was left of 4 armies, run....
From my army was not much left but damn I was proud!
carpe noctum (and their women!)
Yeah it depends what mood im in. I like to play around with different strategies. Sometimes ill blitz, sometimes ill turtle, sometimes ill go for a nomadic raiding strategy where ill go across the map conquering provinces and then abandoning them once ive picked a new target.
Regardless. Well done.
