Heartbeat....

Okay,when I press the 'end turn' button,I sometimes hear a heartbeat when another faction does his movements.Does that mean the faction lost a battle or so?I've already asked a friend and he reports the same sound.Thanks in advance.

I think it means they're using spies or assasins. The computer tends to barf up certain sound effects for what the AI is doing (like the 'ready to ambush message') even when it's not your faction doing it.

I confirm, I can almost guarantee it's related to spies as I had a spy in a far off city and evry turn there was movement there with the heartbeat sound, don't know if it's used for anything other than a spy. Also do you notice an invisible unit moving the path of the greenline. Yeah its really hard to see that invisible unit but look really hard

I agree that it accompanies AI usage of an assassin; I've seen the AI unit do its mission while the sound effect played.

It's the screams of sinking ships over an empty sea which make me wonder ...
