I played a campaign as the Turks and had to deal with them..... boy there's a lot of stacks....
I am playing as the turks now, I was strong and they seemed to have thought it would be easier to attack Hungary. They were right, Hungary is getting their butts wooped and even declared war on me for whatever reason.
So lucky for me they did not go south but directly west.
After all, they did create an Empire larger than Rome in less than 50 years. Historically accurate I guess. Can't wait to play as the Russians and desperately try to outlast the Mognols and wait until the drunks take over, tehehe.

It might have been just the overall strength of your empire, but did you also do anything special to reinforce your frontier like build forts or use blocking armies? When playing the Sassanids in RTW/BI, I remember I was able to steer the Horde away to attack a weaker faction, by placing a few forts at the mountain passes, and keeping my frontier provinces fairly well reinforced with troops.Originally Posted by Ciddler

Does anyone know when the Timurids arrive?I heard they will be a good macht for the Mongols

-Verba volant , scripta manent
Playing the ERE in BI, I built forts at the Danube river crossings. The Vandals avoided me and went elsewhere. After the Vandals pushed the Goths off their lands, they avoided me as well. The Huns, on the other hand, didn't like being herded. I had to kill all 9 stacks of their troops in the end.
Timurids are late 1300s, historically. I think Timur took over in 1369 or thereabouts, and it was over the next 35-40 years he systematically carved out his territory.

Who's talking spoilers? I'm talking history. There's no guarantee it happens in game exactly the way it did in history. They may have a trigger or random factor involved. I haven't even gotten to the Mongols yet in my game.

How can you have a mini-map with solid colors like that? Mine is with millions of colors and some parts are dark..
This stacked:

As you can see all the generals are 8+ Command, and most of the units have two silver chevrons of experience. They later empired out like in effums screenshot.
In RTW the AI would often have multiple stacks strolling around in the countryside, without using them to actually conquer some settlements. This is pretty neat.
I see. My bad then, freaked out when I saw Timurids with a date next to it - as I, like you, aren't that far in the game yet.Originally Posted by Quillan

My Mongols decided to go to Russia rather then the Middle East, and as a result; All the European super powers are cowering. Heres a Hint, Hungary used to control most of Russia.

And yeah, I'm Sicily =P. I like to play my games slow rather then expand quick. I don't even plan to win this campaign, I'm just messing around right now. Of course, all my cities and castled are defended with cannon towers and loads of militia with silver armor at least, I don't have much to worry about.
And yeah, the Scots REALLY did kick England out of England :P

I had the castle near to their spawn point filled to the brim and troops on the way. I was also the strongest nation to the time, still am. Hungary is still meddling with them, lovely! ^^Originally Posted by Zenicetus
