Default Famous Heroes --- What file?

I wanted to check the Famous Heros list in my game and could not find it.

I started doing searches of the files for specific words trying to find it, and cant. I did find the list of the first and last names but thats it.

I have seen it posted in a few places but cant find the specific file in my game.

I am looking for the file with the list like this:

    FAMOUS_HEROES FN_ALMOHAD

    "Yusuf-ben","Yacub", 1150, 3,3,5,4,6,pious1, GENERAL, ID_LIMBO, -1 //built the Grand Mosque in Seville

    Thanks,

Ok the file you are looking for is, DEFAULT_HEROES.txt

    In the directory:
    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Total War\Medieval - Total War\campmap\names
    #Hillary4prism

Hmm, No wonder I could not find it, I am missing that directory. I am not sure how I could have done that.

Will have to try to locate and dig out my CDs and re-install. :(

    Thanks,

Do you have VI? Or just Vanilla MTW?

If you only have Vanilla MTW you wont have this file, as it was only implemented in VI.

Ahh,,, ok. That explains it, I AM running vanilla MTW. (with Wes's MedMod, plus Africa and Pagan addons, and a few other tweaks)

Since there was a regular Heroes list AND a Viking Heroes list, I had thought the former was in vanilia MTW.

You should get VI. I've seen it on amazon for less than £5.00. It is really worthwhile getting because it fixes alot of bugs, adds new units and features, an extra dark ages britain full campaign and allows you to install any of a range of the great mods that are available.
