Default Tip on On Ai sally Bug/thingy

I was sieging out a rebel castle with a cavalry heavy army and on the last turn The Ai sallies. Then that thing happened when they rout back to the castle and the doors shut behind them.

Now it seemed they had 1 unit that was stuck between an ally so I tried luring it out with archer fire from 2 nearby walls but nada.
After the arrows ran out, I really didnt want to exit the battle and lose (no time limit)so I made 1 or 2 laps around the castle to try and get a reaction from it but nothing.

resigned I decided to Withdraw my whole army and after 3 or 4 units left the battle field The AI units (2 Left) Seemed to wake up and left the castle to attack me, so I had another chance to kill it and did.

I don't know if it was one of the units that left the battlefield that unfroze the 2 stuck units or if it was the battle odds that went higher up for it that made them wake up.

It would be nice if someone would have a go with this to see if it helps out in an identical situation.

LoL I just had the same kind of experience in my English campaign(m/m). I was assualting Rennes and had already lost the first siege(no seige equipement), and in the second bout an enemy force came in from behind as the defenders sallied out to attack me. Needless to say I beat up on the defenders as they tried to fight me while waiting for their friends to come and help. They ran back inside with my cavalry in hot pursuit and shut the gates on us and also on their archer unit which was properly dealt with. Then their reinforcements showed up late and after a brief fight ,in which their leader died in 2 seconds, they broke and ran for the castle. But! Low and behold the defenders didn't open the gates, and much to the dismay of their "reinforcements" they ended up coloring the ground red. I had already called victory when I killed their leaders and after the battle report the town was all mine. O yea and in between my first siege and my 2nd more successful siege/battle and French army had a go and got beatin pretty good too.

All us men suffer in equal parts, it's our lot in life, and no man goes without a broken heart or a lost love. Like holding your dog as he takes his last breath and dies in your arms, it's a rite of passage. Unavoidable. And honestly, I can't imagine life without that depth of feeling.-Bierut
