sorry for ressurecting old thread ;)

I've played a bit with editor and text files released by CA there are few interesting things.

When browsing through the descr_unit.txt I've found that in game there's not only russian Gulay Gorod unit but there's also a unit called Wagon Fort for Poland and Hungary. When you play with these units ingame, they're just simple crossbow units (which is obvious as in code they don't have any siege engines attached, in contrary to, for example, great cross unit) However, the wagon fort has a special ability called..wagon fort!

Then, I've played a bit in the editor and I've found that there are a models of war wagons arranged in a defensive circle, that could be placed on map like predefined settlements - castles, vilages, or FORTS!

Combining these 2 things I came into conclusion how the war wagons would work if they were in game (maybe it'll possible to enable them later on, when we get the unpacker). So the war wagons wouldn't act as a siege equippement like rams, siege towers, standars etc, but they would be more like the forts that you can build on campaign map. In case your army was attacked by the enemy, and you had a wagon fort unit, your units would start inside the fort made of wagons. Of course, you wouldn't be able to move them, just hide behind, as it's the case of the normal fort.

This sounds worse than idea of moving the wagons by yourself, and arranging them into defensive circe, but on the oter hand it's quite realistic - after all wagon forts were defensive equippement, and using them in semi offensive role (as marching up your enemy, then setting up the fort) would be a bit off-realism.

Now I hope, we'll be able to make the wagon forts work after the patch comes out!

TW. There's another interesting observation - the Gulay Gorod has no special abililty called wagon fort nor they haven't got any siege equippement - I wonder how they were meant to work.
