    Default New Guys Question

From lack of anywhere better to say, having played the demo and then reading the org forums, not to mention remembering the demo tutorial, are the general's in M2:TW mounted or not? In the Battle of Pavia, they were, but in Agincout(sp?) they were dismounted uber killers.
Would like to know, as i plan to play a infantry only army with hre and would love if i could have dismounted generals.
    Thanks in advance,

With the effectiveness of archers against heavy infantry in this game i wouldn't use an all infantry army... But as far as i know all generals are mounted, although i haven't played as dirty Doychland yet.

My generals have all been on horseback so far. I have only played as the French though so this may not be true for all factions.
    and New Zealand.

Yes they are all mounted. No there are not 2 versions (early and late) of all the factions generals. Also you cannot dismount them yourself.

At least for the English, there are two types of generals in MP, but they only differ by one point of armour. If you can fully upgrade the armour of generals, a late general unit would be redundant in SP.

Indeed their a little redundent for most factions. But a couple differ quite a bit. The byzantines don't get a late period cav unit and I believe none of the emerging factions either.

But another factor you should keep in mind is that the horse on later period bodyguards have much more armor. At least without a unpacker, in RTW horses had a seperate armor slot, so in M2TW this rule should also be the case. The extra armor on the horse should help in those charges into pikes and halberds.
