Thread: Spear wall trouble?

    Default Spear wall trouble?

From Obdushaers to staff sword milita, and from Scot pikeman to more, trouble awaits....
Do any of you guys notice that when enemy units (whether it be knights or peasants) come crashing into the spear wall, the units carrying the pole arms do not act as if they were in the formation. They instead swing at the enemy and move out of formation somewhat. What should have happened is the unit staying in formation while pointing their spears outward to stab. If I wanted my spearmen to fight swinging their polearms around, I might as well charge them instead of letting them sit there. Because of this, my unit is quickly beaten and routed off the map. Anyone else encounter this problem?

    Thanks.

Yes they all love their secondary weapons way more than their primary weapons, unfortunately. You can try asking the unit to halt, and then retarget the unit they are currently in combat in. Most of them should switch back to their main weapons, most noticeably with pikemen.

I talked about it but no one cared. The spearmans arent acting like spearmans. Most of the time i feel their pikes are just for show, cuz they allways exchange it for the second weapon. But i believe nobody will tell CA about it and we will remain with these "new swordmans"
