Thread: Dishonorable troops..

    Default Dishonorable troops..

I noticed that when I most need troops to surround an enemy Taisho they flee.. even when it's 60 men vs. 1 taisho. I've lost a few battles because te taisho or daimyo stayed out of reach until the time ran out, which is just ridiculous. so, I've moved back to R: TW because it's troops don't flee when I need them..

Hi. The enemy daimyo is powerful and protected by elite bodyguards (hatamoto?)

You need a Naginata to block an enemy daimyo. You can shoot it with arrows too, which is easier. What's great about STW is that it is balanced so long as you don't use elite troops or attack early without possible access whatsoever.

lol, I killed all of their bodyguards, and the taisho/daimyo still holds off against at least 300 yari samurai, about 120 Naginata, and 60 archers..

    Ok.
    1) Use one unit at a time. Or Charge from the back with Yari.
    2) Shoot the Daimyo when it retreats.

I've done that. and shooting the daimyo only made him run faster, and I gave it a good 15 minutes of chasing, firing, and hitting and the daimyo still kept scooting around. same with the last few renegade units that have no leader and just scoot about. usually archers.

Ok, when it retreats, it will eventually come back. Shoot it while it is walking towards you. If it charges toward your archers, block it with Naginata or Yari.

Are your archers spread out in a long line (2-3 deep)?

k, nice tip. I've already conquered all of Japan before the Dutch ever showed up, but it's still fun to fight in
