Help! STW Gold Edition hangs when I exit the game!

Hi to all,

I have played STW "Classic" ed. in my PC (XP) without problems. But the Gold Edition hangs my PC. After reading through the forums and tried everything, I have uninstalled the Nero program (actualizing Nero did not work). This has solved the hang in the Throne room, but not the hang when I try to exit the game. Any help? Thank you.

I guess you could try alt-f4 or alt-tabbing and closing from task manager.

Alt-F4 or control+Alt+Supr are useless. I have to restart the PC...I suppose this indicates a serious hang...

Sounds graphics card related. When the game ends it restores the desktop resolution and colour depth, this may be where it's crashing. If you try setting your colour depth to
16 bit colour and set your windows desktop resolution to the same as that in the game and see if that makes a difference. Also post some system specifications.

I have set the desktop colour depth to 16-bit, the resolution was already at 800x600 like in the game, but it continues to hang. A message error appears about the file ShogunM.exe.
My PC is a Pentium 4 at 775, 1024RAM, a lot of free hard disk space, defragmented and checked with scandisk, ATI Radeon 9250 256Mb. Windows XP.

What driver version are you using for the Radeon?

What is the exact error message?
