Thread: Which hairstyle should I choose?
Big King Sanctaphrax 19:51 11-27-2006
For the past 3 years I've been growing my hair, and it's now almost waist length. Although it has been fun, and I don't regret doing it, I am starting to tire of it now, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have it cut. I thought I would solicit advice from the patrons here about what I should have done.

I've been considering a classic men's haircut with a side parting, as sported by Errol Flynn in this picture-

Alternatively, I could keep it slightly longer. I was watching The Princess Bride yesterday, and was quite taken with Cary Elwes' haircut-

Or I could go for a central parting instead, again with the hair left slightly longer-

What do you think?

Before I decide: could I have a picture of you so I can see which hair style would suit you the best.

Otherwise I would recommend the last one or a buzz cut .

#3 will suit very well if you have such a cornered face.

Definitely #3 and dye it lighter at the same time.

I'd go for #3 as well.

I think #3 suites you best too.

If you get a mullet I'm taking away all your Floyd.

What's wrong with my hair colour?!

Number 3 is definitely the younger man's cut. However, I do really like those classic 50s hairstyles. It's tricky.

My woman thinks you're Teh Bomb! I'll ask her opinion when she gets home.

She'll let you know.

Just a thought, #1 & 2 will probably require more hair goo of some kind.

When I cut my long hair I gave it to “locks for love”.

If you go for either #1 or #2, don't forget to grow the stylish moustache that Errol and Cary are sporting! Any other hairstyles from Robin Hood actors that you are considering?

You're all wimps! BKS, keep the hair, grow a beard.

Alright BKS,

Mrs. Beirut says:

First off, you don't have to cut it that short.

Second, your hair is too straight to pull of the Errol Flynn wave.

Third, if you cut it that short your hair will have no body.

Fourth, of the three shots, go with the third style

My ten year-old says "Ugh!" in reference to Errol Flynn. She's ten, whadaya expect.

So: 2 weeks of discussion; has a decision been made? Is our esteemed BKS a crew-cut guy now, or a dashing rapscallion? Or did he chicken out?

And how about an update on those models?

They're shooting the photos on the 22nd-after that, it's shearing time.

I'm leaning towards the style you posted, Kukri.

Of course, by, "chicken out", you must mean, "come to his senses".

Dude, seriously, it's a bad idea.

Ok, after several months, I finally plucked up the courage to have my hair cut properly, so I ressurrected this thread.

I'm very pleased.

Hmmm, before and after shouldn't be like this, if you want my opinion, you looked better with long hear, you are one of those people that have the face for it. You also look much younger, or maybe that is just wishful thinking.

Nice haircut! Now you have an opportunity to make such a hairstyle as you posted on the first three pictures, you just need a good hair gel for it. Applying it on hair allows forming locks and holding it together just make sure that the product can be combined with your hair type. Here is the manual on how to choose the right hair gel, hope it will come in handy.
