Just your average european football match, what's so disturbing apart from the victim being from Israel? Hooligans will be hooligans. One brave cop though, that is really something, the good man deserves a medal.

It goes beyond hooliganism, it is football violence reflecting some very serious ills in modern French society. Hooliganism itself has never been too much of a problem in France. If only because football doesn't arouse quite the same amount of passion as it does in other Latin countries or England. PSG is the exception, it accounts for over half of all incidents on its own. It is the team of the suburbs. (Well all teams are, no civilized Frenchmen wants to be seen anywhere near a footy stadium.)

Sure him being jewish is relevant here? He was a supporter for Tel-aviv, and what these hooligans said, well here in Holland Ajax supporters call themselves the jews, you should hear what rivaling clubs come up with, it sounds horrible but it's ultimatily pretty harmless. Can't really be sure if there was any real antisemitism here, or just plain rivalry. Not trying to downplay the incident, just not sure of what happened.
