Thread: Crusade Recruitment Mechanics

    Default Crusade Recruitment Mechanics

Does anyone know if the crusade/jihad recruitment mechanics is affected by reigon in which a crusade or jihad is traveling? In that, it should be pretty hard to find any Catholics to head to the holy land in the middle of a Orthodox reigon. It doesn't seem to be affected TOO much to me, but, is it?

I can top of my crusader stack with crusader mercs in Jerusalem right before I burn it. My only explanation would be that maybe they follow the crusade hoping to get hired??

The whole point of crusaders is that they are total religous fanatics. They're cheap for that reason.

I think maybe this should be changed. # of men is in direct relation to the % of religon in that region. It makes no sense otherwise!

Absolutely, says the guy whose first declared a crusade in the recently conquered province of Merakesh. Has another army join in very Catholic Valencia, and had a heap of units available.

To me it just seems silly that you could recruit hundreds or thousands (depending on unit size) in the middle of a 0% Catholic land to die for the Catholic cause.. when.. apparently none of them are Catholic.
