Your Favorite Faction (re-visited)

I made a poll like this about 3 or so weeks before the game came out, so I thought I'd do it again since most of us have the game and have already played a few campaigns. Also, I assume that people's favorite factions may have changed, as mine has. Granted I have only played campaigns with 6 factions, they have mostly been my top chioces.

My favorite used to be the Byzantines, but because of their complete lack of units and gunpowder, they have fallen some in my eyes. My Favorite so far are the Italian factions, and my favorite of those is Milan. They just seem to have it all, decent starting position, very good units, and they usually end up very wealthy. I also like Sicily a fair amount too.

Well, my favourite will be England once somebody makes a mod to give them segeant spearmen and armoured sergeant spearmen, which they should have had in the first place... And England is the only faction i've played a campaign with for more than 100 turns, but i abandoned it due to boredom, as i always do.

I just started one as Germany, h/m as always, and it's really fun. First i decided to abandon that province that's sandwiched between Venice and Milan, as i knew it would cause nothing but problems, then i had to build castles everywhere due to being smack bang in the middle of 6 different factions who all want a piece of me so my income isn't so good... What i'm basically trying to say is it's the hadest faction i've had to play as in a TW game and i love it.

So favourite for me is England or Germans.

I've been itching to play as Germany, but I have been putting it off due to their terrible starting position.

Definitely the Russians. Excellent units (but one has to wait a bit), not a bad starting position and they get Crusades and Jihads called against them!

Erm, I'm quite new to the board and it says I may not participate in the poll, so I'll just write it down here:

My favorite factions to play as are:
1. Scotland
I love Highland Nobles (and how their armor changes their looks) and Noble Swordmen, plus their starting position is great. They may not be the most realistic faction (kilts anyone?), but it's a game, so it doesn't matter much...

2. HRE
I'm German, so I'm a bit biased here, but apart from their difficult starting position surrounded by enemies (which isn't helped by dumb diplomacy A.I.), I like playing with them a lot. Their unit roster is quite good, though I'd have liked a basic sword infantry type (like feudal/chivalric men-at-arms in MTW) as feudal foot knights are too expensive upkeep-wise and all-spear armies dont feel right to me.

3. England
Their archers rock, and their infantry (apart from the lack of decent spearmen) is not bad, either. They have lots of good build options (Tournament Grounds, Woodmen's Guild) and the opportunity to kick some backstabbing french butt is always a bonus. (Just joking!

- mind, in my games, they always do backstab me

)

...in that order.

I tried playing as Venice and Milan, but their militia-heavy armies just don't appeal to me...

Well my two favourite factions in the original MTW were England and the Germans and that hasn't changed with MTW2.
I'm going to complete my current English campaign and then move on to the HRE.I keep restarting due to the fact that i'am constantly learning new tricks and finding out how to use new features.

I can't vote on this poll either but i thought i'd share my thoughts.

There are a few factions that I haven't tried yet that I may like more than Milan, but I guess we'll see. I'm suprised that I haven't seen a vote for the Turks yet, although it is still early.

Just got my computer, just got the game, and about 30 turns into a short HRE campaign. I like them, although I don't think I will be able to fully appreciate them until the days of gothic knights and zweihanders.

Next campaign I was thinking a non-catholic faction (mostly due to the inquisitor issue) but I may try out Sicily, Venice, or Milan

Yeah moderators, i just realized I put Venice in there twice and left out the Byzantines, if you want to change that....

Gaaaaah.... I choose.....ehm... I choose the.... sigh, they are all so good...but in different ways. I choose the.... Turks! Let the infidels come!

If I could vote, I'd go for either the Danes or the Turks.

Danes because axemen are awesome, plus I love the idea of Norse War Clerics. Nothing beats a holy man with a mace.

And the Turks have always been a favorite of mine.
