Nope. I had to do it too, but only after 20 turns. I really think it's worth it, though. the game feels a lot better, at least to me. Some people will argue but I like it better.

Turn 91 here. Ok. Well might do that, but anyway it's worth knowing for the next campaign. Thanks.
Still open on best way to open end the game.
Edit: By the way won't changing time scale to 0.5 make the game much easier ? Though it is ridiculous (I think) that a simple market takes 8 years to build some of the unit training might go through the roof, if it's 0.5 no ?

I've got mine set to 1.00.
That way, I still have a nice and long campaign.
Yeah, the generals and agents and whatnot age at half the speed, but I can deal with that more than I can deal with them aging at quarter speed.
By setting it to 1.00, you get a long campaign, but you don't necessarily lose out on the oppurtunity to see the mongols, the black death, gunpowder, and the americas (if you move REALLY slow).
